Sai Li was born and raised in mainland China. She received her BFA from Tsinghua University (2012) and MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute (2016). She currently lives and works in the Bay Area. Through a variety of art forms including drawing, comics, animation and illustration, Sai employs visual narrative as her primary method of expression.

Her work has been featured in Anime Taste, Small World SF, TAYO Literary Magazine, Inkt|art and DISSOLVE Magazine. She received the Murphy and Cadogan Contemporary Art Award and the Vermont Studio Center Artist Grant.
